The D5600 gets Nikon’s SnapBridge technology for continuous photo sharing

HOt on the heels of the launch of the D3400 – Nikon’s first beginnerclass SLR to incorporate SnapBridge – comes the step-up D5600. SnapBridge is slowly becoming a staple feature of the Nikon system, first seen in the pro-spec D500 and now rolling out at the more affordable end of the range.

With the SnapBridge app installed on a smartphone or tablet, you can pair your device to the D5600 via Bluetooth for an always-on ‘low energy’ connection. This enables 2MP JPEG versions of your photos to be automatically transferred to your device, even while you’re shooting, ready for you to share. SnapBridge also allows you to manually transfer full-resolution versions of your pictures and to control the D5600 remotely (something that you can’t do with the D3400 because it lacks the required Wi-Fi).
