COAST to COAST USA

We exited north into Wyoming for three nights and a rest, as it was nigh on July 4. We weren’t sure if the country ground to a standstill or not on Independence Day, so thought it prudent to stop while it was all going on. One thing we did realise when we reached Wyoming was how speed limits vary in different States. I have always thought that the upper speed limits in the States were 55mph, which is a bit of, as Trump would say, fake news. There are lots of speed limits lower than those in Britain, but in some States you get single-carriageway roads with 65 as tops and interstates that top out at 75. Wyoming has some single-carriageways with speed limits of 70mph, and interstates of which allow eighty.
