In that time, the entertainment landscape has changed drastically. now offer more nuanced story lines for their LGBTQ protagonists, instead of reducing them to stereotypical side characters. Mainstream pop, rap, and R&B artists are openly the fluidity of sexuality and gender identity in their music. The children’s TV show made headlines recently for portraying a wedding between two men“as a joyous celebration,” as ’s Ashley Fetters and Natalie Escobar it, rather than as “an opportunity for a proverbial that teaches viewers about same-sex relationships.”
