JUDGES

WELCOME to Winestate magazine’s “cream of the crop” judging for 2018. Here we invite wineries to resubmit those wines awarded four and a half and five stars from numerous judgings throughout the year held both in Australia and New Zealand. These range from regional judgings to so-called style tastings such as chardonnay, or sweet whites, or new release judgings held for each issue.

In what is effectively a trophy judging, our panel of three expert judges were asked to blind taste each category in turn, to select the Top 5 wines without fear or favour, then identify the winner in each group and finally an overall Wine of the Year for Australia and New Zealand.
