Heljan Class 03 shunter

AT 185mm in length over the buffers, a Class 03 shunting locomotive makes an excellent entry point to ‘O’ gauge modelling – inexpensive compared to larger steam and diesel locomotives, the Class 03 is the perfectly sized model for a first ‘O’ gauge layout where ideas and techniques can be tested to see if large scale modelling suits.

Swindon built a total of 230 during a five-year period from 1957, the review model having a 1958 builder’s plate applied to the bonnet.
