The Lowey Hit List

• Look after your passport• Look after your money and credit card/s• Be open-minded when travelling• Get your grommet to fill out the custom forms—it’s a great place to• Roll with the punches when it comes to layovers. Try to relax and enjoy your time, especially because you’re on holidays• Take a book or a magazine. No batteries are required and they are inexpensive if you loose them• Make sure you take insect repellent and sunscreen. Don’t rely on getting some when you get to your destination• Packing boards: pack them tight and don’t let them slide around in the board bag. Bubble wrap is the best because it’s light and you can reuse it• If you like epoxy boards, they are a good option for travelling as they are much lighter• When it comes to clothes, pack light if you are travelling to the tropics• Take a book or a magazine to read• When the waves aren’t good, do some exploring. Surf travel can be a little one-eyed sometimes and it’s good to think outside of the next swell• Remember when you go to these exotic places it’s not going to be like the brochures with perfect waves and empty lineups. Relax and then you’ll be ready for when you do get the place to yourself and it’s perfect• Don’t drink the tap water• Avoid tummy bugs by taking probiotics (you can get ones that don’t need to be refrigerated and start taking a month before you leave) or, if you forget to do this, drinking coke can also work wonders• Be careful walking under coconut trees and never sit under them. 150 people are killed by falling coconuts each year (worldwide). More people die every year by getting hit by coconuts, than by sharks … very scary those trees• Use lime on coral cuts
