INTERVIEW: CHRISTIAN KNOOP

You have really made your mark at IWC, but is it true that you had no background in watch design before joining the company?

Yes, that’s right. I have been at IWC for around 12 years and it was actually my first job in the watch industry. Before that I worked on pretty much everything apart from watches. I trained as an industrial designer and worked for international agencies designing furniture, consumer electronics, industrial machines, medical devices – I even designed aircraft interiors.
