BLACK BELT incorrectly implied that Rodrigo Antunes coached Gokor Chivichyan before Chivichyan won a gold medal at the World Master IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship in August 2020. In actuality, Antunes is a student of Chivichyan’s whose role was to make sure his teacher understood the rules of the IBJJF event.

Rodrigo Antunes: I explained the BJJ rules extensively when I found out that sensei Gokor was going to compete in the BJJ championship.

I have been competition. My no-gi grappling was good but not great. I have known sensei Gokor for many years, and I know how great he is in grappling. I always wanted to train with him and decided to call and connect with him.
