Set in the Abramsverse, it sees Kirk and co aiding a colony ship full of alien refugees who are under siege from an unknown enemy. But are they being attacked, eh? A prequel to new videogame (reviewed on page 92), (26 May, Titan) bridges and the present-day continuity, following US Marine Scott Devlin as he discovers hidden truths, clandestine agencies and savage opponents… y’know, all the good stuff. Turning to continuing series: the lives of Rielle and Tyen continue to unfold in (21 May, Orbit). In this concluding fourth book in Trudi Canavan’s saga, the restorer of worlds and the former spy must reunite to save humanity from a dark threat… Finally, Giles Kristian has followed up his Arthurian novel with (out now, Bantam). Set in a Britain riven by anarchy, slaughter, famine, filth, darkness, and the scarcity of chopped tomatoes (okay, we made that bit up), it centres on Galahad as he comes to terms with his legacy as Lancelot’s lad.
