Like a shop window revealing a glamorous Great Gatsby- esque world on the other side, the seaside cottage belonging to Alex Hardee and his wife, Eloise Markwell-Butler, turns heads. The weatherboarded holiday home on the Kent coast stops passers-by in their tracks. ‘We don’t mind people stopping to have a look through our window – it’s what we do ourselves. One couple thought it was a cocktail bar!’ Eloise laughs.
