Interview with ANNET SCHAAP

The CILIP Carnegie Medal is the UK’s oldest and best-loved children’s book award. It is awarded by children’s librarians for an outstanding book published in English for children and young people. The roll call of past winners includes Arthur Ransome, C. S. Lewis, Terry Pratchett, Philip Pullman, Noel Streatfeild, Neil Gaiman, Sally Gardner and Elizabeth Acevedo. The award’s mission is ‘to inspire and empower the next generation to create a better world through books and reading’.

Annet Schaap’s book Lampie was originally published in the Netherlands.
