More than four months after India formally began its battle with the coronavirus, we have crossed 1.5 million Covid-19 cases. We now have the dubious distinction of being the country with the third-highest number of Covid-19 cases after the US (4.5 million) and Brazil (2.5 million). The silver lining, if you could call it that, are our comparatively low fatalities—we have lost 34,398 persons as compared to 152,000 deaths in the US.
