At the age of 25, Vishen Lakhiani was a young entrepreneur in Silicon Valley during the 2002 dotcom bubble burst, who tried desperately to come up with an idea that would get funded, but would ultimately fail miserably. His software company didn’t take off and he lost the money lent to him by his father. He didn’t have sufficient funds to pay rent; he slept on couches, and was left with an uncertain future while the inevitable expiry of his US visa loomed on the horizon. But a chance encounter with an advert for a meditation class would soon propel him towards an unexpected journey of enlightenment and self-discovery, leading him to build the community that is Mindvalley, that very journey is shared.
