The Titan Company's watch business was at an all-time low during 2015/16. Despite an over 50 per cent market share, it grew in low single-digits. That had nothing to do with watch-making skills, but analog watches were becoming passé and the company had not been able to react to the change. Titan's biggest competitor was not another watchmaker, but Apple and Samsung, which sold close to 80 million smartwatches, while Titan managed to sell only 15 million watches.
