OUR moon, alone in the night sky, might seem lonely to you. But did you know there are more than 200 moons orbiting six of the planets in our solar system? A moon, also called a natural satellite, orbits planets, dwarf planets and asteroids. Jupiter has 79 known moons, which we divide into three groups: inner satellites, the Galilean moons (main group) and outer satellites.
