Stage 4 cancer was diagnosed in a family member of Rob Rainier, regional head at Alexander Forbes. He relates: “As somebody who earned commission only and no basic salary, she would have been without an income for almost six months while she had to undergo chemotherapy.
“There was one positive thing, though – she had a policy that covered her against loss of income. Due to the policy, she received her insured income every month for six months until she could return to work.”
