- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I listened 2x. It's short. 2nd time printed out hardcopy of 20 rules. Easier to keep straight. Longer than 10 commandments but distilled from Biggest Loser so it oughta work.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This book says to eat 1500 calories which destroyed my metabolism. I now eat 3,000 calories on a vegan diet but I had to gain weight first because Harper ruined my metabolism. Look at every former biggest loser participant- they all gained the weight back plus some.. following his advice. This is a temporary fix not long term. Don't waste your life.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Short, sweet and to the point. First time I finished an audiobook lol
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very straightforward cutting out all the redundant information we already know. Pinpoint steps to a better diet.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I have done the yo-yo thing for the last 20 years. Sick of unsustainable and unrealistic strategies, this sounds doable. But I need to listen to the entire book every day for the first month or I know my little-bitty-shitty committee will take over. Really I would recommend everyone at least listen to it a few times for health reasons. It is to the point and your future self will thank you when you don’t end up with diabetes or cancer.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5? Great, sensible advice.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Basic,common sense guides to healhty eating.Great recipes and guidelines. The author denounces agave as one of the bad sweeteners, but then goes on to list agave as the sweetener in his recipes.A bit confusing on his part. Agave is a healthier alternative to the chemical sweeteners everyone uses and doesn't spike insulin levels.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I enjoyed this book, partly because it was written pretty closely to how Bob talks on "The Biggest Loser," and it worked for this book. I liked the Skinny Rules for the most part. One I'm definitely going to try (that I'm not doing already) is drinking a glass of water before each meal.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Bob Harper, from The Biggest Loser, points out some very good things in his diet and his recipes. Yes, a sticking point with some of the recipes, as another reviewer stated, is that he says to avoid sweetners, but then agave nectar is in some of the recipes. I like that at least one of the recipes included liquid amino acids (I've been a fan for 10 years of that gluten-free soy sauce alternative.) My biggest problem is that like many other diets, this one includes nuts! I am allergic (we're talking about anaphylaxis)to tree nuts as well as peanuts, sesame and sunflower seeds. I am also allergic to cheese (Mr. Harper recommends some cheese). This is the problem with a lot of diets. None of them really tell one what to do when allergic to some major items! Otherwise, this book has some very good suggestions.
