About this audiobook

A relative makes a tactless comment about your child's weight.
The guy behind you on the expressway follows too closely.
Your spouse lets the gas tank go down to empty . . . again.

Getting angry is easy. Daily irritations, frustrations, and pain poke at us. Feelings of disappointment, hurt, rejection, and embarrassment prod in us. And once the unwieldy cluster of emotions of anger are aroused, our thoughts and actions can feel out of control and impossible to manage.

Dr. Gary Chapman, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The 5 Love Languages®, offers helpful-and sometimes surprising-insights into why you get angry and what you can do about it. Using real-life stories and practical principles, Chapman explains how you can channel anger in ways that are healthy and productive. You'll also be equipped to help those you love (including your children) deal with their own anger, as well as effectively deal with those long-simmering feelings of anger toward people in your past.

Includes an assessment that will help you discover your personal propensity toward handling anger and how to effectively tame it when it arises.

Has some good insights but overly religious and condescending a bit at the end

Way too much bible talk, a reference here and there I can handle, however, there is very little in this book that says how relying on god will help. Advice is talk to pastor, then go to a licensed councillor. Don't really see why you need the first step if the second is what actually helps.

Dr Chapman’s book is well worth your time. Please stick with it. Some of the material comes across as idealistic or too simple, stick with it through to the end there is some pure gold to be found.

I tried listening, I really did but could not get through the extremely religious material. it would be splendid to get my credit back since I could not get through even a quarter of this book.

Over saturated with biblical talk. I can look past some but every sentence? Had to turn it off.

Dr. Chapman examines the causes of anger and strategies for dealing with it, especially in relationships. His advice and insights are very practical, very do-able, and could be life changing. Everyone struggles with anger, even if you repress it you will find strategies on how to express it in a healthy way. I liked how he explained the good side of anger, used a lot of real life examples, and the chapter on handling anger directed at yourself. Dr. Chapman read the audio-recording and did an excellent job, since he does regular radio work his recording voice is polished and professional.

This book is a good book on getting past, dealing with anger. However it can be incredibly difficult to get past, deal with the Christian references every other sentence. This book can easily apply to anyone, but getting through the parts, even a whole chapter about God, can make those who don't care for that quite frustrating. Overall though a good book
