      "Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site" is a cute easy read for children. Perfect for bedtime story and with nice illustrations of vehicles calling it a day.

      Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site is a great book for young children. The story tells of the job each vehicle on a construction site does. It tells that they rest at night as well. The illustrations are lovely. The rhymes are quiet and soothing. The repetition will surely soothe young children to sleep. This is a good book for learning about trucks. It is a good book for learning about rhyme and repetition. I would recommend this to readers of all ages who are fans of picture books. Lovely!

      My 2 yr old son LOVES this book, and so do I. Not only are the pictures really well done and very sweet (not to mention he loves to point out the owl and cardial that appear on some pages), the rhyming of the story is written really well. I don't love to read all my sons books to him over and over again, but this one I never tire of reading.

      I really liked this book for multiple reasons. One thing I liked were the illustrations. The illustrations of the trucks and the setting were simple and realistic. For example, when the sun starts to set and their work for the day is done, there is a picture of the trucks at the construction site with the sun setting in the background. The illustrations in this scene are extremely realistic and include strong colors that capture the readers attention. I also really like the illustrations of the trucks with facial expressions. It helps convey the mood while also creating the characters. For example, when the story refers to the trucks as tough, the illustration shows the trucks with tough looks on their faces. They also show the expressions of the trucks being happy, sleepy, and even dizzy. Another thing that I really liked about this book was the way in which it was written. The words flow smoothly and rhyme. For example, one of the rhyming lines is, "He moves the dirt from place to place, then dumps it with a happy face." I also like how it goes through the trucks (Crane Truck, Cement Mixer, Dump Truck, Bulldozer, and Excavator) one by one as they finish their work and then go to sleep. I believe the message of this story is that after a busy day of work, everyone must rest.

      Excellent choice for bedtime themed story time. When I read it, the kids really seemed to enjoy guessing which machine it was. They loved the rhyming. I had them whisper on the 'goodnight, goodnight' parts. Boys and girls enjoyed it!

      This books about the end of the day when all the trucks at a construction site say good night. I thought it was an adorable rhyming book. It would be a good book to read before bedtime. What I didn't like so much about the book was that it felt targeted more toward boys and girls like trucks too. I would read this to children ages 1-5.

      After a long, hard day of work at the construction site industrious anthropomorphic construction trucks say goodnight. A bedtime book for big truck lovers everywhere, the trite and sometimes awkward end-rhyming scheme of the text invites children onto the construction site for a behind-the-scenes look where the trucks do all the work themselves. This clumsy story seems to rhyme just for the sake of rhyming, and yet sometimes it doesn’t even succeed at that. The phrasing of some lines makes this a problematic read aloud book, forcing the reader to repeat lines until they flow correctly. Able to stand alone without any text, the vibrant oil pastel illustrations skillfully invite the reader into the story with intricate detail and an amusing whimsy that fills each page. Preschoolers will be attracted to these brightly sanitized visions of hard-working construction equipment from their favorite construction site without having to make the trip there themselves.

      I picked this one up to preview as a gift for a soon-to-be big brother who is Preschooler’s age. Think Goodnight Moon with a Bob the Builder twist. If you’re looking for a bedtime story for a boy (or girl!) who doesn’t appreciate the soft and cuddly, but something with a little more “action”, this is your pick.

      Take a trip through a construction site as they prepare for the night after a long day of hard work. Watch as the tractor snuggles up close to a dirt pile, or his blanket and pillow. Or, as the crane falls asleep to the light of his night-light hanging above him on his hook. Making nighttime seem not so much like nighttime in this fun and cute story, illustrator Lichtenheld does it again bringing the trucks and vehicles to life right in front of us. Illustrator of New York Times bestselling books including “Shark vs Train,” “Duck! Rabbit!,” and of course “Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site,” Lichtenheld ensures that this story is worth reading and sharing with young children. Duskey-Rinker makes the story an easy read with the rhyming and fun text throughout the book. The repetition throughout the book also makes for a fun read with smaller children. Reading this story will make nighttime seem not so much a chore any more, but instead a magical and fun time for both parents and children.

      This book is about the hard work/day and nights work of construction machines. This book gives personification to tractors, cranes and trucks. In this story night time is full of fun. The illustrations in this book are really cute. This is another story I could use in a lesson in teaching fantasy and realism. This book uses a lot of repetition so that younger children are able to recognize different words over and over in their learning process.

      Tom Lichtenheld's illustrations drew me to Goodnight, Goodnight Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker. The book is a rhyming story about the process of going to bed, similar in spirit to The Going to Bed Book by Sandra Boynton or Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown (and its many parodies).Here, though, the creatures going to bed are construction equipment. It would be a good book to read in conjunction with Job Site by Nathan Clement and Hard Hat Area by Susan L. Roth.As a stand-alone story about bedtime, it's lacking something. The rhymes are soothing and the illustrations are adorable but seeing construction equipment put themselves to bed is also odd. My daughter even commented on how strange it was that the trucks were the ones going to bed, rather than the people driving them. The book, perhaps, would work better as a bedtime story for younger children (ages 2-3), and less as a read alone book for older children.

      This is a great bedtime story for young children who are having a tough time falling asleep. Moreover, the repetitive scheme of the text lulls children into a very calm space, and helps them fall asleep. Lastly, I have used this book many times to put younger cousins to bed and it is very helpful.

      A perennial favorite since it was first published in 2011, Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site features an engaging bedtime tale in rhyme, paired with appealing oil pastel illustrations in deep and vivid hues. One by one the rough and tumble vehicles at a construction site finish their work for the day, getting ready for bed in the end. As the narrative bids each one goodnight, the theme of sleepiness is emphasized and reemphasized in such a way as to have a soporific effect on young listeners.It's difficult to believe that this was author Sherri Duskey Rinker's debut, as the text is so assured, and reads so well, just tripping off the tongue! Young truck-lovers - of which there are many! - will get a kick out of this bedtime book, and will enjoy listening to the rhyming refrain as vehicle after vehicle gets ready to go to bed. The artwork by Tom Lichtenheld shifts between more wakeful colors such as yellow and orange in the daytime scenes, and more peaceful hues such as blue in the nighttime ones, giving a visual reinforcement to the theme of winding down. Recommended to anyone looking for the perfect bedtime book for the young construction and/or truck enthusiast.

      This is a great book to keep in your reading center. This book discusses things you would see at a construction site. The children love to read this book before nap time. They also like to help read the book. You can use this book whenever you choose.

      I really liked this book for a few different reasons. First, the illustrations were amazing. I specifically loved the colors that Lichtenheld used. I thought that the rhymes were really thoughtful and creative, as well. It was easy to read and also easy to listen to. I think that this book would be very entertaining in a classroom and could teach children a lot about the different components of a construction site. It uses many technical terms and could help children to enhance their vocabulary as well.

      The book is great for a nap time or bedtime story. It'd be great for kids obsessed with construction sites and trucks etc. The rhyming text is catchy and a fun story for young kids. Curricular connections to different places and spaces of work. Teaching kids how to relax and that everyone and everything needs to go to bed.
