About this audiobook

It is well documented that working hard isn't enough to keep your professional star rising: Self-promotion is recognized as one of the most important attributes for getting ahead. But learning to share your talents and successes without coming across as smug or rehearsed is a tricky skill. Now, Peggy Klaus, top communication and leadership coach, has developed a program that will teach anyone to brag - and get away with it. Filled with practical examples of ways in which people in various work-life stages can promote themselves, Klaus teaches readers to communicate strengths and accomplishments without appearing too opportunistic, eager, egotistical, or self-aggrandizing. Now, anyone can communicate with style and substance - in any situation - and walk away shining like the star they are.

I was a little embarrassed to be seen reading this title, but it is, in fact, and excellent book. Anyone who isn't an incorrigible egotist can probably benefit from the author's advice, and it's very breezy to read. Both humorous and practical - I recommend it.

BRAG was a needed resource for me! I hate the question, “What do you do?” because I know I flub the answer. My referrals are always more enthusiastic about my accomplishments than I am.

This book reenforced their point that I must brag on myself a little more in order to succeed.

The 12 Questions I must answer and use will help. I recommend this to all who think they have nothing to say or contribute!

In a nutshell, this book is about elevator speeches. If you have studied up on this subject before than this book may not prove to be all that ground breaking. If not, then you should definitely pick it up as it covers a very important topic in the business world and provides valuable nuggets sprinkled throughout. I didn't care all that much for the format which was essentially a bunch of stories of other people, which is all nice and dandy but I could have analyzed the same stories and concluded everything on my own without her interpretations but I am still not quite so sure about how to convey my own success. Her examples covered mainly CEO's, Presidents, etc. so no wonder their story sounds amazing!! Gee, wouldn't have guessed.I also got distracted by several spelling/typo errors throughout her book, it becomes even more glaring when the book is covering the topic of effective communication.
