- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I picked this book up expecting to feel brain cells dying as I read it. I was very wrong; I can see why my students enjoy this series so much. It's very well written (albeit extremely simplistic) and interesting. It was an extremely quick read and is educational, to boot!
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was a little funny--I liked the sabertooth and the wooly mammoths.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5To get the third object to save Morgan, Jack and Annie have to face terrifying creatures, cold weather, and a fall into a trap during the ice ages. Luckily a Cro-Magnum priest helps them out and gives them a mammoth bone flute, and they are able to return home unharmed.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Another "Jack & Annie" read aloud to my daughter. This time our heroes travel to Ice Age Europe and encounter Cro-Magnon people, a wooly mammoth, and a sabretooth tiger, all while wearing their bathing suits! Brrr...This is another fun, well-written, and historically informative story for children and the grownups who read to them.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is great to use in the classroom. The main idea of this book is using your imagination and exploration, but at the same time the chapter book is informational. This series is very cute and entertaining, I loved it! Jack and Annie go on another crazy adventure where they meet woolly mammoths, cave people and the sabertooth tiger. The book covers what the Ice Age looked and felt like as well as the culture of the people who lived during that time period. The story is exciting and even includes pictures. I loved reading these books when I was growing up.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really enjoyed “Sunset of the Sabertooth” out of the Magic Tree House series. Mary Pope Osborne does a fantastic job of including facts and history into a fun and exciting story. In this particular book, the author includes accurate information about the last Ice Age, Cro-Magnons, wooly mammoths, and saber-tooth tigers while Jack and Annie are on a mission to help Morgan. The book has a very fast pace, and the plot never slips into anything boring or monotonous. Although this cook is a chapter book, it is a very quick and easy read which would be good for students just moving up to the level of chapter books. I also enjoyed that the book had occasional illustrations throughout the book. The illustrations help to break up the text and also allow the reader to paint a better picture in their mind of what is going on. The main idea of the book is to tell the story of yet another adventure Jack and Annie had out of their magic tree house.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Jack and Annie, in Frog Creek, Pennsylvania, want to rescue their friend Morgan. But they do not realize that they have to go to the Ice Age...
