About this audiobook

Five children meet on the first day of kindergarten. In the years that follow, they become friends and more than friends. Together, they will find strength, meet challenges, face life's adventures, endure loss, face stark realities, and open their hearts. In this moving novel, #1 New York Times bestselling author Danielle Steel traces their unforgettable journey - full of tests and trials - as three boys and two girls discover the vital bonds that will last a lifetime.

Gabby, Billy, Izzie, Andy, and Sean - each bursting with their own personality, strikingly different looks and talents, in sports, science, and the arts. Each drawn by the magical spark of connection that happens to the young. At the exclusive Atwood School, on a bright September day, starting in kindergarten they become an inseparable group known to outsiders as the Big Five. In this rarefied world, five families grow closer, and five children bloom beside one another, unaware of the storms gathering around them.

As they turn from grade-schoolers to teenagers, seemingly perfect lives are buffeted by unraveling families, unfortunate missteps, and losses and victories great and small. And, one by one, they turn back to the Big Five to regain their footing and their steady course. But as they emerge from Atwood and enter the college years, the way forward is neither safe nor clear. As their lives separate and diverge, the challenges and risks become greater, the losses sharper, and the right paths harder to choose, in a journey of friendship, survival, and love.
In what may be her most intricate and emotionally powerful novel yet, Danielle Steel tells a heart-wrenching, ultimately triumphant story that spans decades, weaves together a vivid cast of characters, and captures the challenges we face in life - sometimes, if we're lucky, with a friend forever by our side.

Friends forever by Danielle Steel Izzy, Gabby, Billy, Shawn and Andy are friends throughout the years (k through 12) at the prestigiuos private school. Better chance to get in if you had another sibling there already. Services also offered physiological help and help with colleges.Story follows the parents and their lives. Very confusing to me because there are so many of them. What I do like about this book is the pact they make in 2nd grade and how many different situations they go through.Like hearing of the older children, infants and parents lives. Tragedies occur when they are older as they thought they were invincilbe.I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

Wow! What a ride! This is so good book. I didn't thought much about Danielle Steel before this book but now I am. This is so amazing book. It made me cry so many times but it made ma think also and it is much much much deeper than I thought it would be. It is like a picture of my generation - generation what has so many opportunities and so many ways to ruin it all (drugs, alcohol etc). Utterly a good book.

Couldn't put this one down. Starts off with five children in kindergarden and goes through to their early twenties. Much tragedy and love - a book of the twenty first century gets you in the gut and won't let you go.

I have never read a Danielle Steel book before and after this I am not sure if I will again.I enjoyed this book at the beginning but found that it got progressively worse and more depressing. By the time I had finished the book I was feeling depressed. This book is about 5 children that meet at kindergarten and grow up together as best friends 'the big five' the five are inseparable and always swear to be best friends forever. The book takes you through family problems, drugs, alcohol, suicide and death. It was a good book but I just wouldn't choose to pick it up and read it again as like I said by the end I was feeling thoroughly depressed. It is one of those books that stay with you and you find it hard to shake off.

I typically like Danielle Steele books but this one took a long time to get into the story and really develop the characters. It was sad and progressively got worse and ended rather abruptly. I am glad I didn't buy this book or I would be getting rid of it shortly.

It was real life experiences and it also exposed how vulnerable our young folks are. As always with Danielle Steele, we’ll written and of modern day importance.

Well I love this book, I thought it was a little unrealistic. Daniel Steele is a really good author.
There was so much tragedy in this book.
The issue I have with the tragedy in this book is that it happened to such a small group of people it was repeated tragedy it seemed like the people in this book were always suffering a new tragedy.
Friends forever what a good book but honestly, realistically how does a small group of people suffer so many different tragedies and lifetime?

This book wad very enjoyable, it follows 5 families who met the first day of kindergarten and finished as the children were adults. Great telling of how life can be. These are friendships that I am afraid don't exsist as much today and that means that the young adults of today are missing out on so much laughter, joy, tears, adventures with forever friends.
