About this audiobook

Michelle Boyd enjoyed her first time water-skiing on beautiful Lake Wataga. She floated peacefully, waiting for the boat to rocket off, pulling her into another thrilling ride.

Then her sister saw the dark shape gliding through the water, relentless, large and powerful.

It broke the surface with a tremendous splash, a large brown hump as wrinkled as an elephant... and as fast as a ski boat.

Watched through the sinister eyes of the oldest living resident of the lake, Michelle and Erin learn a dark and terrible secret.

A secret submerged in the murky depths of Lake Wataga for forty years has returned to watch, to wait... and to feed.

It has been a long time since I last read these books- and for this one it's the first time I've been able to listen to it- but I still think they hold up well and would appeal to kids today, if for a few oddities such as kids needing to wait for their parents to pick them up to tell them that the movie got cancelled, etc (no cell phones in the 90s, and likely not enough pocket change to call home on a pay phone lol). Last One In has never been my favorite in the series, but it is still a moderate one and good entertainment. No reason not to listen, even if others- such as Unfriendly Skies or Dead On Its Tracks may be more solid- the first, No Substitutions- remains the best by far IMO on production values (larger cast for the abridged recording helped). Thank you, Scribd, for the solid, solid nostalgia!

Not so scary story a bit choppy and no twist ending a bit on the boring side but none the less still a good spooky kids book to listen to more for a younger age.
