About this audiobook

It's another awful year at Bathory High for Vladimir Tod. The evil vampire D'Ablo is hunting for a ritual that could steal Vlad's powers. His best friend, Henry, doesn't want to be his drudge anymore. And it's getting harder for Vlad to resist feeding on the people around him. With the threat of D'Ablo looming closer and nightmares haunting him each night, Vlad realizes that having a normal high school year is the least of his concerns. He needs to act fast, and even his Pravus powers won't save him this time.

The third installment in this series and it's just as good as the first two. I was upset about what was happening with Henry and Vlad's friendship. It was cool to Vlad becoming more aware of his vampire powers. Also enjoyed seeing Otis and Nelly's forbidden relationship bloom. Can't wait to move on to the next book!

Disclaimer: I have not read the first two books and had no knowledge of the plot before I found a copy of this book for two dollars and was intrigued enough by the cover to give it a try without realizing it was the third book in a series. However, I feel that this book can pretty much be read as a stand alone because there is so much repetition in the writing. It seemed like every other page was a recap of Vlad biting Henry when they were kids, Joss staking Vlad, or D'Ablo trying to kill Vlad. I don't think I missed much from the previous books. The writing for this book was okay. A lot of repetitive language and not much character development outside of Vlad's constant teenage vampire angst. I usually like characters (especially males) who show an emotional side, but it seemed like Vlad was either sobbing or at least tearing up on almost every page. The plot was slow and overall the book felt choppy. A week would fly by between chapters, making the timeline seem really long without much insight into events in between. The fight scenes were good, a little gory with great detail. Overall, an okay book. I won't be continuing the series, but I don't feel like it was a waste of time. A pretty easy book to read with a cool cover, but not a lot of substance.

Third in the series, D'Ablo is again hunting Vlad so he can claim the Pravus's powers as his own.

I think the thing that interested me most about this book was Snow, the new girl. Vlad's all obsessed with Meredith through all the books up to and including this one, but he finally decides that he can't control himself around her. Snow, meanwhile he actually does lose control around, but she's okay with it. I think that ends up being why Snow is the winner. Vlad's constantly feeling like an outsider, but she's part of his world, and happy to be. Meredith wants Vlad, but doesn't want his baggage. She just wants him to fit perfectly into her world.

From a technical standpoint, Heather Brewer is a fairly mediocre writer. Each book, I've noticed she seems to pick a different cliche and force it into the book several times. she also uses a lot of the same sensory descriptors over and over and over ("he could feel his fangs sliding through his gums").From a plot standpoint, however, CoVT is very good. I enjoy this series. Also, Vlad is one of the dumbest literary teenagers I've ever seen. He lacks any and all street smarts and for some odd reason keeps trusting D'Ablo at the stupidest possible moment.

Vladimir Tod has been learning about some of his vampire powers. Otis taught Vlad all summer. Vlad can sence when people are around that are vampires and learning more of his telepathic communications. Vlad and Aunt Nelly enjoy otis baing arounf but he has to keep leaving because Otis is still a fugitive in the vampire community, he knows in order to keep them safe, he must leave. Vlad still has the girl of his dreams, Meridith Brookestone. There are still some problems in Vlads life, like eddie Poe trying to expose vlad of being a vampire and henry and vlad not liking eatchother anymore. Heather brewer did a nice job writing the sequel to the 2nd book. I think The end of the book, like the last 3 pages, were very boring. Not much detail and it seems like she got tired writing it. Threw out the book there was very good action scenes and very descriptive parts.

**Spoiler Alert! You’ve been warned***Oh, it doesn’t get any easier for Vlad does it? Again, this book was a great read like the last two. It carries on from the previous book (reading them in order is greatly recommended) and Vlad is always ever developing. The plot this time was just as good, and it kept the page turning. I notice Brewer’s writing just keeps getting better and better with each passing book. I was scared for Henry and Vlad when Henry had that little moment where he wanted out of his drudge role. Although it’s understandable, I had to be a little irked at first because of the way Henry was trying to get out of the friendship. WTF Henry, ignoring Vlad just like that is..not cool. Not to mention out of character (never thought Henry was a prissy type to do such a thing, I thought he was the all around popular nice guy) and, well I’d have to say it’s petty. But, when everything just came out into the open I was glad Henry wised up and just let Vlad know how he felt. The ending nearly had me pulling my hair. I can’t BELIEVE Vlad did that to Meredith. Despite her fondness for the color pink, and how she oozes of bubblegum candy goodness, I was ready to accept her and Vlad together. But noooooo. Vlad just turns that upside down - although it was well intended, the way he went about it was not cool. More plot development, and much more to look forward to, fans of Vlad Tod are going to love this book. Those who haven’t started, get to it now. They’re excellent so far.

Every year high school gets more difficult, with studies, and social lives. For Vladmir Tod - its even worse, since he's a teen age vampire. More comlpications arrive this year, and a new group of friends. The Goth's take him in as one of thier own, and one learns his secret - the same sort of way Henry did. Now troubled by learning he is the Pravus, and that Otto thinks he is as well, but also how to deal with his growing hunger for fresh blood, not what Nelly has been getting him from the hospital. The complications keep coming for our young friend in this 3rd installment of the series from Ms. Brewer.

I love this series. The author continues to spin a good vampire yarn (when Harry Potter meets the vampire world) and I look forward to the next installment.

Dang, what a great installment to this series. I honestly read it it pretty much one sitting. It was such a fantastic read!! Just a fast summary: Vald is now in 10th grade, and still is coming to terms with being a vampire, as if being a teen isn't hard enough. He just wants to be left alone to learn the ropes to being a vampire. The sad thing is, Vald gets anything but left alone. It seems that the vampire council wants to bring him into their courts and have him face charges. They just don't get anyone to bring him in, but they get Ignatius. He's told to bring Vald in, and if Ignatius want to smack him around a bit, well that's okay by them. Just bring him in alive, even if it's just barely. Things get worse when an old enemy comes back into his life. Vald also has to face an impossible truth, someone at his school knows he's a vampire, and wants to expose him, at all costs. To make matters worse, Vald's best friend, Henry, and human drudge, doesn't want to be Vald's slave anymore. He wants to be free of Vald's control, and his friendship. At one point, all of the Goth's at his school want to be his friend, and draw them into their world. That was a really neat part of the book, it was very interesting. I love how Brewer keeps making Vald an interesting character and keeps developing him. That's the sigh of a fantastic author! I can't wait for the next book to come out. If you know Brewer, tell her to get the next book out as fast as she can. Never mind those pesky human habits of eating, drinking, sleeping or having a life. :O)= (That's my vampire smily face) Just keep writing the books! This is such a great series. Start with the first one, and enjoy the ride. I know I am.

I really enjoyed the first two Vlad Todd books! He's back and things are getting darker. Vlad is thirsty, really thirsty, things are off with best friend Henry, and Otis is out of touch. D'Ablo is still after Vlad and has hired Ignatius to bring Vlad to him. His vampire stuff and his teenager stuff are overlapping and Vlad feels like he doesn't have anyone to help him navigate through all the changes.

Vladimir Tod has been learning a lot about his vampire abilities. Otis has spent the summer training him on extending his telepathic communication. He is also getting better at sensing when other vampires are near. Both Vlad and his Aunt Nelly have gotten used to Otis being around and hate to see him go, but since Otis is still a fugitive in the vampire community, he knows in order to keep them safe, he must leave.Vlad’s life seems to be going great. He has the girl of his dreams by his side and everything just seems brighter when she is around. Meredith is head-over-heels for him no matter what her friends say.A few things are getting in the way of his happy-go-lucky attitude though. To start with there is the pesky Eddie and his brand spankin’ new camera, the terrible mood causing Henry, his best friend and drudge, to pull away from him, and his growing need for blood. Also causing him problems are the terrible nightmares that have been interrupting his sleep. Dreams of viscious attacks filled with blood and pain keep waking him in the middle of the night. It really worries Vlad when he can’t contact Otis for help and advise. So, for the most part, Vlad is on his own.Heather Brewer has written a wonderful addition to The Chronicles of Vladimir Tod series. Vlad becomes more and more likeable as his kindness and soft heart keep showing through. The thing that sets this book apart from the others in the series is the tone. TENTH GRADE BLEEDS takes on a more mature tone as Vlad deals with his relationship issues with Meredith and Henry and even more so when adapting to his increased blood lust. The ending leaves the reader begging for more. TENTH GRADE BLEEDS is the best book in the series so far. It is exciting to think about what the future has in store for Vlad.
