The third instalment in the Dr Richard Pryor series is a strong novel of which the main investigations are a body found in peat bog, a corresponding heat in a barrel and the appeal of a woman charged with murder (hence the title Grounds For Appeal).

Like the other novels it realistically follows 1950s forensic pathology with the investigation not solely centered on the pathologist but a combination of police & pathology work.

This one and the first one are my two favourites of the series, am looking forward to the next.
