- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5This book is so outdated & old fashioned, and the author is outright bigoted. His discriminatory statements are as hurtful as they are false. For example, he states that “research shows a child with a father and mother grows up better” - nonsense, there are amazing same sex partner out there who do just as good a job if not better, than a mum and dad. I am in an opposite sex relationship so I’m not even advocating foe my own cause here, I just think it’s horribly offense of him to state these things. Throughout the book he continues to just speak about a mum and dad, not once mentioning same sex parents. This book would be perfect for parenting 70 years ago…. Furthermore, it’s repetitive and just not useful at all
