About this audiobook
Since the moment I was ripped from my mother's womb, I've been an outcast among my own kind. The Sidhe might possess magical Gifts, unbelievable wealth, and unfathomable power, but I don't want a thing to do with them. I ran away from their lands in the Highlands of Scotland when I was eleven years old, and I've never looked back. I don't need a clan. I've got my own family of highly skilled thieves who mean more to me than any Sidhe ever could.
Unfortunately for me, the playboy heir to the Moncrieffe Clan has something I desperately need. To get it back, I'm going to have to plunge myself back into that world, no matter what the consequences may be. I suppose it's just as well I have sense of humor. I think I'm going to need it.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Integrity, a runaway at eleven, is the last surviving member of her Fey despised Sidhe clan, that was all but wiped out. She's an outcast, clanless, and has been living by her wits and survival skills as a thief for almost longer than she can remember. She's shocked to discover the high born clans have been keeping her in their sights. Wanting nothing to do with clans, Integrity's reluctantly forced back into their world of deceit and magical manipulation by none other than Byron,a playboy prince and heir to the Sidhe Stewart. Integrity delves into her clans history only to find that it has been all but erased in all the Clan history books. She must employ all her well honed skills, not only to seek answers about Clan Adair's demise, but to survive the various attempts on her life once she returns to their world. In Gifted Thief, there's a chemistry that develops between Integrity and Byron, but can she trust him and his motives? Helen Harper has also done a great job of character development with the collection of Integrity's partners in crime. Helen, this is definitely a series I will continue to follow, Gifted Thief left me hanging and wanting to read Honour bound once it's released. Jack Murphy
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Surprisingly good book. I had never heard of this author but gave it a chance and was very quickly drawn in. Only complaint I have was there were several times, towards the end of a chapter that it abruptly cut off and moved to the next chapter. Not sure if I missed anything or not. But I feel that is more an issue with the site than the author, narrator or tantore audio.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed this story.
Normally I don't do Farie stories but I seem to be on a trend lately. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed this book a lot, while being a typical novel length 90,000 words it just is very quickly paced. Loved the main character Integrity, nice name choice as the character picked it for her own and the first chapter has her breaking into a bank. Integrity is loyal, smart and funny, she tells horrible jokes and is a science fiction fan girl, she's also a master thief.
I listened to the audiobook and Saskia Maarleveld did a wonderful job as the narrator the characters all sounded distinct and had a marvelous accent.
I'm starting on book 2 as soon as I finish this review. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/54 stars
Well for once I'm really glad I got past the most-liked reviews because the book turned out to be much more pleasant than I expected it to be!
The setting is quite nice, and I like that we progressively learn more on the Sidhe as we follow the main character's POV, but at the same time we don't know much about the other species existing in the world depicted by Helen Harper in this series as Tegs (I like her nickname way better than her name) already know them and thus doesn't dwell on what that entails. Her friends are amazing, I really hope to see more of them and especially all of them together again in the following book.
Integrity (that name... for real?) is not as bland as I thought her to be, and is actually quite catching. Sure, her jokes are getting too much, but we know that it's done on purpose, that the others don't like really like them and don't even pretend they do, but it's still part of her personality. So, although I want to kick her every time she starts a new one, I still appreciate that it's an aspect of her personality we got to witness, and to see she's not just "gifted" as the title suggests.
There something off about Tegs and Byron's "relationship" though. I'm still curious about it, but there something that I don't really like about it, although I can't pinpoint what it actually is that I'm having trouble with. I'll see how it goes in the next one!
It's the first book and it was good, but not magnificent or anything. It's only the beginning of the series, though, so I'll start reading the next one, hoping it gets to the next level now. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I wasn't sure about GIFTED THIEF before going into it, but I loved Harper's Blood Destiny series so I decided to give it a try and I'm really glad I did. GIFTED THIEF starts off pretty quick with showing us some past events that bring the main character, Integrity, to where she finds her self as an adult. It's easy to like Integrity and she seemed to have a pretty good head on her shoulders and I was rooting for her all the way. The mystery behind her clan is pretty intriguing to me. I was constantly looking for clues as to what really happened to them and I am glad that Integrity was looking for answers too. A little bit about a few side characters. I really liked Byron and am rooting for something to actually start between him and Integrity. There was a definite spark and a lot of tension between the two. Them having a relationship would also piss some people off—which would be awesome. Most of the Fae were just a bunch of stuck up jerks, but a few had some redeeming qualities. I looked forward to anything that put them in their place. I thought Integrety's friends could use a little more work in the character development department. They just seemed to be missing something.I enjoyed the world. I thought the Fae side was well explained. The pace was nice, not too fast or too slow. I will continue to follow Integrity's story in Honour Bound and look forward to its February 29th release.* This book was provided free of charge from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I received this free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review. This is a very unique book from others that I've read recently and I truly enjoyed it! It took awhile to get use the the scenery and the storyline because it's a bit different, but once I got the hang of it I dived right in and read it in one sitting!I really like Integrity. She is spunky, determined, independent, and very smart. I would definitely like to be friends with her any day! And when she was forced to go into a territory where she knew no one liked her, she held her head up high and made damn sure no one knew she was a bit intimidated. In fact, she was pretty bad ass. And Byron... I loved when they were in the hotel room and Integrity was trying to be all coy and whatnot. He is definitely not a man you want to mess around with unless you are able to take the consequences for your actions. Thankfully, Integrity can take the heat, and what flames there were with these two characters. I'm interested to see how things will pan out for them seeing as they are from two different clans, and one clan absolutely despises the other. I'm glad I was able to get this free eARC copy and read it early! Just sucks I don't have the following novels so I can head dive into the story and figure out the ending, but I suppose I can wait until they are released to continue this really great story! Now I might have to inquire about the other novels Helen Harper has wrote and see if they are just as good as this series starter :)
