About this audiobook
In Chicago a.k.a "Chiraq," the first ten days of 2016 yielded 120 people shot. Baltimore's 2015 ended as its bloodiest and deadliest year-on a per-capita basis. In 2014, Detroit's police chief called upon law-abiding citizens to take arms against its burgeoning, violent, criminal subculture.
Unfortunately, these cities aren't anomalies. Year after year, a seemingly unshakable reality of violence plagues black communities nationwide.
In fact, since 1980, blacks have routinely accounted for almost half of America's annual homicide victims, and more than half of the perpetrators-all while being a minor thirteen percent of the national populace.
Yet, a certain black-based industry-which specializes in nurturing comfortable lies while burying uncomfortable truths-propagates a notion that "racism" is the foremost issue facing black Americans, and white cops are blood-thirsty enforcers.
Moreover, this cunning, race-peddling entity knows that it's easier to lie to blacks than to convince blacks that they've been lied to.
Thus, black "lies" are good for business; black "lives" are good for nothing (except exploitation). And presently, business is booming.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Misinformation runs amuck despite it all easily being debunked. Should be classified as fiction.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Excellent book! It's nice to hear a clear voice of reason in the midst of all the chaos and misinformation spread by the BLM movement. The proper medicine can only follow from an accurate diagnosis.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I enjoyed this book, it's factual and contrary to the populist agenda that's informed only by emotion. There's not much new the book reveals to me, I just completed Heather MacDonald's brutally honest War on Cops as well as Jason Riley's Please Stop Helping us.
What was new was the perspective, a young black male American's perspective. I am a huge fan of research based oarticles and books because of their pursuit of the facts rather than what's appealing to the latest batch of victims so this book hit it in the nail. I don't agree however with the author about his commentary on Dr Thomas Sowell who rose up to the highest echelons of academia and philosophy, not because he had the best of circumstances but because he defied the odds. Thomas Sowell in fact could easily be Taleeb Starkes a couple of years now.
Great book though and I love it when people offer solutions to their own problems instead of expecting others to solve them. How this emotionally fueled rhetoric persists puzzles me but we all will pay the price. Instead of investing in finding solutions to help us solve more of humanity's problems we are busy trying to save perpetual victims who made choices and now are suffering the consequences of their decisions. A great thing for the race peddlers and populist politicians who can then monetise supposed suffering, self inflicted or not, at the expense of those who work hard, play by the rules no matter how uncomfortable they feel so that they can positively contribute to the advancement of humanity.3 people found this helpful
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A harsh reality presented in clearly and fluently. PC is the greatest threat to America and to the whole Western Culture. Self victimization is not exclusively practiced by black Americans, but is also present in other parts, like in the Middle East.
I did not know Taleeb Starkes prior to hearing this audiobook, and now i’m a fan.
Also, it is worth mentioning that the last chapter of the book is pretty funny

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Mr. Starkes presents a well-researched and powerful response to the loud Black Loves Matter drumbeat.
My wish and hope is that those good, moral people who have bee shaped by the oft-repeated misinformation that has stolen the media.
Oh, and don’t be put off by the narrator (it is Mr. Starkes himself). He is a better researcher and author than an orator! - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Shocked that this type of vitriol is allowed to be published and generate revenue. Absolutely false, bigoted, and rampant with misinformation. Disgusting.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Great book with incredible content. As an audio book, however, I had a hard time listening to it. The narrator, who I was surprised to learn is also the author, has, what I consider to be, an extremely unusual cadence. It sounds lo like someone who is not particularly good at reading is only picking up the book for the first time and them reading into a microphone. Otherwise the book is a solid 4 stars.
