children's chapter book (grades 2-4, younger as a readaloud)
Funniest when read aloud by a skilled reader; younger readers will still enjoy the charming illustrations and silly plotlines but may struggle a bit with the vocabulary (and may miss the subtleties of Gizmo's evil villain voice). So not one that I'd necessarily group with the moving up/beginner chapter books, but I think it will be great for experienced readers and definitely as a read-aloud.
