About this audiobook

“This book is epic.” —Cosmopolitan
“A hopeful and moving love story.” —Publishers Weekly

Fangirl meets Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda in this “sensitive and complex” (BCCB) coming-of-age novel from New York Times bestselling author Christina Lauren about two boys who fall in love in a writing class—one from a progressive family and the other from a conservative religious community.

Three years ago, Tanner Scott’s family relocated from California to Utah, a move that nudged the bisexual teen temporarily back into the closet. Now, with one semester of high school to go, and no obstacles between him and out-of-state college freedom, Tanner plans to coast through his remaining classes and clear out of Utah.

But when his best friend Autumn dares him to take Provo High’s prestigious Seminar—where honor roll students diligently toil to draft a book in a semester—Tanner can’t resist going against his better judgment and having a go, if only to prove to Autumn how silly the whole thing is. Writing a book in four months sounds simple. Four months is an eternity.

It turns out, Tanner is only partly right: four months is a long time. After all, it takes only one second for him to notice Sebastian Brother, the Mormon prodigy who sold his own Seminar novel the year before and who now mentors the class. And it takes less than a month for Tanner to fall completely in love with him.

I'm LDS myself, and I was truly amazed at how well and respectful this book was written about our faith.
The church can seem so harsh on the outside, and also it can seem harsh from the inside too, for some of us. But there is still so much good in it-so much peace, and I love how Sebastian continued to point that out to Tanner. Listening to Sebastian's struggle, wanted to hug him. I wanted to tell him that there are members of the church who are accepting and love him, just as he is. Because it's true. We may be few, but we are here.
I love this book. I love the way it's so respectfully written, and I want to know what happens to the adorable, wonderful couple!
    Bravo!

Tanner is a bit on the clingy side I must say. I feel like he does not realize when to back out of a conversation. I like that he communicates well and expresses his feelings but when dealing with men in general but more so men like Sebastián whose religion is an integral part of their personal identity you need to refrain from putting pressure or drilling truths they do not want to hear over and over again. It only serves to push them away.
I am glad Autumn owned up to her part in what happened the one night with Tanner- women need to take responsibility for consensual sex. As long as you consented you can't say I was taken advantage of.
I liked the fact that the authors went put of their comfort zone(to my experience so far) and explored a topic that is very important yet contentious. How do you reconcile your religious beliefs and your sexuality not only from a LGBTQI perspective but even if like me you are just cisgender and heterosexual. What is permissible? What is not? How does God feel about us exploring carnal desires?
I completely understand both Tanner's and Sebastián's perspectives and circumstances. Tanner couldn't help whom he fell in love with. Sebastián knew that by following his heart he would run the risk of alienation from his family as well as his faith. He truly wanted to pursue his faith. I feel the HEA part was too short and not tied up completely we needed more than that.

I love the characters in the book and I love Tanner’s sense of humor. I left out loud and it broke my heart. I loved the ending.

Autoboyography isn't all sunshine and rainbows but a YA romance with all the angst and funny rom-com moments we've come to expect from this duo. Tanner and Sebastian stole my heart and I wanted them to overcome all these obstacles together. They have a touching love story with an insight into the Mormon community. As someone who is not religious, I didn't know what to expect but I appreciated how the religion was written and wasn't bashed.

Christina Lauren have written a very cute coming-of-age, MM romance with the challenges of understanding faith and sexuality. Autoboyography talks about some very challenging subjects and tells the story of two guys from religious backgrounds but with very different families and how they navigate a difficult time.

It is a YA book about young people that get to know their own sexuality and chooses how to act on it in their life. Loved the performance.

This was a heartbreaking story that made me laugh out loud numerous times but also gave me and ache in my chest. I wanted to cry for Tanner and Sebastian. At the same time I wanted to scream at Sebastians parents. Loved the story but then again I don’t think there is a Christina Lauren book I haven’t loved.
