About this audiobook

An Amazon Charts bestseller.

A double life with a single purpose: revenge.

Jane’s days at a Midwest insurance company are perfectly ordinary. She blends in well, unremarkably pretty in her floral-print dresses and extra efficient at her low-level job. She’s just the kind of woman middle manager Steven Hepsworth likes—meek, insecure, and willing to defer to a man. No one has any idea who Jane really is. Least of all Steven.

But plain Jane is hiding something. And Steven’s bringing out the worst in her.

Nothing can distract Jane from going straight for his heart: allowing herself to be seduced into Steven’s bed, to insinuate herself into his career and his family, and to expose all his dirty secrets. It’s time for Jane to dig out everything that matters to Steven. So she can take it all away.

Just as he did to her.

Wonderful book, strong protagonist-though flawed but genuine and heads up to the author for clearly showcasing abusive relationships and even the fundamental realities of life - What is right and what is wrong.A depth in this book with questioning a lot of aspects of life.

    Narrator is awesome!!??

An easy contemporary fun read with a wicked protagonist who has a lot of depth and her impulses and sociopathic nature really puzzle you and open your eyes at the same time.

Every time that Steven said something to Jane to make her feel worthless, it made my blood boil. Only thing satisfying is that I knew Jane was out for revenge and I could not wait to find out what she had planned for him.

very funny in a jaded but also pretty accurate way about men who need women to build them up. really like the first person read - the caustic observations and the love of felines.

Literally fantastic, but not what I expected at all. A clever first person telling of vengeance. Jane is a fascinating character, and I know I am not the only one who thinks so.

A Refreshingly original, dark and unapologetically feminist revenge tale. Not the usual fare

Omg. Jane kills me. I wouldn’t call this a thriller or mystery, but a YAS woman make the POS pay (and his equally awful daddy too).

I loved Jane Doe! What a fabulous portrait of revenge and retribution. Jane is a wonderful character, brutally honest, intelligent and single minded. She's certainly different, quirky, and troubled with childhood trauma and an undiagnosed disorder. I liked the way her character evolved thanks to meeting an old friend, who becomes the anchor she needs. The novel is cleverly told from Jane's intense and unique pov, wrapping the reader easily around her little finger. I'm thrilled to see that there's a sequel, because I want to know more about Jane. I listened to the audio version, which was brilliantly read.

Implicitly , this narrator has gone through her first few decades doing the typical sociopath things, like lying and cheating and getting a rise out of other people’s pain—especially in the form of humiliation, and especially if she caused it. She’s a self-proclaimed monster, but she’s not a murderer, she doesn’t think. Wonderfully written from the perspective of a sociopath; being inside her mind (as the reader) was fascinating and horrifying. That she wasn’t the “torturer/murderer” flavor helped me (or allowed me!) to empathize with her self-honest understanding of not really being human.

The author does a highly accurate job writing a character with classic abusive behaviors without crossing into ultra feminist narrative. She lets the characters exist in that imperfect place humans inhabit.

Love a good revenge story. The mind of this woman is fabulous. She is demure and devious at the same time. Revenge is so sweet!

Should have abandoned the book after the first 30 minutes. The list of things that irritated me about the plot and characters is too long to even begin. Only thing they kept my interest were the references to MN cities as it’s my home state.

Despite the lack of character development and believable characters (especially the protagonist), this book was fun. I’ve decided I want to be a sociopath…
