About this audiobook
The search for a legendary automobile threatens the careers and lives of husband-and-wife team Sam and Remi Fargo in this thrilling new adventure in Clive Cussler's bestselling series.
In 1906, a groundbreaking Rolls-Royce prototype known as the Gray Ghost vanishes from the streets of Manchester, England, and it is only the lucky intervention of an American detective named Isaac Bell that prevents it from being lost forever. Not even he can save the good name of Jonathan Payton, however, the man wrongly blamed for the theft, and more than a hundred years later, it is his grandson who turns to Sam and Remi Fargo to help prove his grandfather's innocence.
But there is even more at stake than any of them know. For the car has vanished again, and in it is an object so rare that it has the capacity to change lives. Men with everything to gain and a great deal to lose have a desperate plan to find it—and if anybody gets in their way? They have a plan for that, too.

Reviews for The Gray Ghost
69 ratings6 reviews
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a clever combination of two suspense stories revolving around a car, an early Rolls Royce named the Gray Ghost. One story is set in the early 1900's and Isaac Bell (another Clive Cussler series character) plays a role in it. The second one is set in present times and features Sam and Remi Fargo, modern day action figures. In both stories the same Gray Ghost is stolen and in the second story it is actually stolen more than once! It's all over-the-top fun, told through interwoven chapters and a journal from 1906 which plays a role in the present day story. There's continuous action and plenty of evil bad guys that you want to get their just desserts. It's an easy and entertaining read.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5good but not one of the best. I didn't care for the compilation of the characters fargos and isaac bell.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Until reading the reviews - I did not realize that this was a crossover book featuring Isaac Bell (the center of another Cussler series). However - that wouldn't have made to much difference to me. The story was slow and the treasure just meh. I wanted more historical info and actual treasure hunting. It was mostly just action. Honestly, it might be my least favorite so far - but of course I'll keep going - I am this close to the end - may as well finish out the series!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The Gray Ghost is another Sam and Remi Fargo adventure, however in this one, Clive Cussler wove himself into the story, briefly, but nevertheless giving his characters some validity. Per usual the story easily goes back and forth from the history starting in 1906 to the present. Because of the wonderful story, believable characters and good length the book was awarded five stars in this review.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Good blend of Cussler heroes and heroines as Isaac's foray into England and early Rolls history sets up the present-day Fargo adventure. Standard Cussler, as Sam and Remi, traipse around the world tracking treasure, thwarting and smiting bad guys as they go. The Gray Ghost is one of the few outstanding antiques that Cussler does not own.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5While attending a car show in England Sam and Remi are approached by a family in trouble looking to sell the Gray Ghost....a prototype Rolls Royce worth millions. This leads them on a dangerous adventrue through Europe to unravel the mystery.
