About this audiobook

In this riveting tale that “will keep you on your toes until the very end” (HelloGiggles), two couples embark on a toxic relationship after a night of sexual shenanigans, unaware of the manipulative teenager with an explosive secret at the center of it all—from the USA TODAY bestselling author of The Party.

Low Morrison is not your average teen. You could blame her hippie parents or her dreary, isolated hometown on an island in the Pacific Northwest. But whatever the reason, Low just doesn’t fit in—and neither does Freya, an ethereal beauty and once-famous social media influencer who now owns the local pottery studio.

After signing up for a class, Low quickly falls under Freya’s spell. And Freya, buoyed by Low’s adoration, is compelled to share her darkest secrets and deepest desires. Finally, both feel a sense of belonging...that is, until Jamie walks through the studio door. Desperate for a baby, she and her husband have moved to the island hoping that the healthy environment will result in a pregnancy. Freya and Jamie become fast friends, as do their husbands, leaving Low alone once again.

Then one night, after a boozy dinner party, Freya suggests swapping partners. It should have been a harmless fling between consenting adults, one night of debauchery that they would put behind them, but instead, it upends their lives. And provides Low the perfect opportunity to unleash her growing resentment.

An “explosive, sexy, and completely absorbing” (Kate Moretti, New York Times bestselling author) thriller, The Swap is perfect for fans of Megan Miranda and Lisa Jewell.

Sorry for any spoilers but what I don't get is why they convince a certain character something never happened, then gaslight that character into believing it was their fault and their idea. It makes no sense why they pretend the event didn't happen the day after and let them walk around feeling like a crazy person for no real reason or motive

This book is beautifully read and i really enjoyed listening to it. The story draws you in immediately... transporting you into the world of the characters whose description is so vivid. the story touches on so many issues we are facing today concerning relationships and the stress of conforming to societal expectations.

Story wrapped around a depressed teenager who latches onto the first person who payed her any attention and then the insanely weird obsession starts.

Such a great read. Definitely didn’t see the ending coming. I binged it all in a day. Give it a chance if you’re curious, you won’t be disappointed.

I like the whole book but the ending. Not sure how I feel about it. Might just be me.

Read it in a day, interesting enough if not a bit predictable.

I couldn't feel empathy for any of the characters. They were equally terrible in their own ways. I gave it 3 stars because the book does a good job of skewering people's carefully curated social media personalities. The premise was original too.

Narrators were superb. It was difficult to suspend disbelief over some of the character's actions. The major issue with it was the author's use of deceit to create one of the plot twists.

I love this genre so much and I have a lot of opinion about it. Unfortunately this book did not hit the right notes for me. It became a little bit boring towards the end, because I knew where it was heading already. Predictable.

Found the story predictable. Not really sure how I feel about this book. I finished it in 2 days but didn't find it to be a thriller, more like a suspense novel ?!

I hate to be The Parrot, but just like everyone else said about this book, I could not put it down. When things got going, they really got going. Whatever you're thinking about the ending, I guarantee you you're incorrect. Fantastic story with wonderful narrators!

What a great depiction of narcissistic personality disorder. We all know that one person that is like this. The obsession is scary and right down to the last 2 lines of the book. Great job. Recommend for sure!

I loved The Party and had a lot of high hopes for the swap. However, the story was not that compelling. It became predictable. Had high expectations coming in. Think it was okay but not my favorite. Didn’t keep my attention

This was a terrible book. I feel like the author was reaching too hard into minority identities and it felt clunky and unnatural. The whole story was just bad. My 16 queer daughter and I listened to it together, she hated it just as much a I did. Don't try so hard next time.

Characters were well thought through, the plot had plenty of action and emotional ups and downs to keep you hooked.

There were so many times I wanted to add this to my DNF pile, but I try to finish every book I start. There were very interesting points in the plot but also some very dull and predictable points. I would not recommend or reread this book. There was potential in the plot.
