      Funny, cute and concerningly accurate to how anxiety causes one's brain to act. Luc and Oliver are adorable and I found the whole thing really pleasant. The fake dating trope down well.

      2.5 Stars.
      I didn't dislike the book as a whole. It had some funny moments. The plot idea was nice but I just didn't connect with the characters all that much. I get that both Luc and Oliver were flawed but I just didn't like them. And I didn't get attached to any of the side characters either, mostly because they lacked substance. I mean some were a bit "quirky" but even that bothered me, because I got the feeling the real people they could have 'imitated' were being made fun of.
      I guess I might have liked the book more if it didn't drag on for over 400 pages. It was way to long for to little that actually happened.

      Enjoy every minute of reading, I mean listening to this ebook. Makes the long boring morning run/walk past much faster and more enjoyable. Love the story and the narrator is funny as hell. Recommended highly is you’re a believer of impossible messy romantic endings.

      I mostly want to say, wonderful. Witty, sensitive, exciting and touching. In the moments when I had to stop listening I waited to go back and listen. And the narrator does a wonderful job. The women are a little weak with him, but the men are great. warmly recommended. I'll be back again.

      Boring teenage drama with ever-brooding characters. I finished it only because I was on a plane with nothing better to do.
      Oliver's voice and intonation were extremely unlikable. It reminded me of Bus Rodent (aka guy with crooked teeth) from Fleebag.

      There might be a few minor imperfections, but this is definitely among the best books I've read so far.

      Reminded me so much of Red White and Royal blue. However, Boyfriend Material is charming in its own way.

      A delightful read with a handful of funny bits. I enjoyed when the protagonist spoke directly to the reader for comedic relief.

      As an audiobook, I loved it. The voicing was perfect. Sincerely wished this voice actor had done RWRB — that audiobook is a travesty, an absolute crime.
