Great story, I love ALMOST every bit of it. But my god Kinsley was sooooo annoying in every way possible that it was almost unbearable.

    Spoilers

Moving into HIS apartment and then throwing all his shit out. Making a mess of his place. Not respecting the rules he made for her staying there. Playing dumb when he tries to talk to her about it. All the crying. Ugh she is awful and really ruins some parts of the story for me personally.

I skipped every part the female character spoke. Love the love story hate her extreme personality. She sure did try to impose her ways on him and I wish I could smack her a bit. AnNoying

(Maddox & Kinsley): TRIGGERS: alcohol abuse, child abuse. such an awesome friends-to lovers story. Maddox & Kinsley have been best friends since the fifth grade. Maddox is the pitcher for a pro baseball team and Kinsley works at getting homes for animals in shelters. She gets an offer for a job in the same city as Maddox and he offers to let her live with him so she can save money. I loved the relationship these two had, they have an extremely strong bond as friends. For me personally, I think MQ made Kinsley a little TOO annoying with the whole vegan, recycling and bamboo toothbrush thing. It was a little much. The backstory was written beautifully, I loved how they were so intertwined with each other instead of having two separate stories. The story also has that moment that breaks your heart and MQ really goes for it. I wished though that there was some resolution with his brother, like maybe a final face off. I really did like this book.

Meghan Quinn did a great job developing the friendship, love, and tension between the couple I this story. I binge read this in two days. Highly recommend, friends to lovers trope.

It’s a cute story, but oh my goodness. Kinsley does not have boundaries and is so irritating.

    ****SPOILER****
…and 10 years later she regrets staying.
If you’ve ever been in an abusive relationship, the end of this story will make you slightly sick to your stomach.
All romance died the minute she takes him back. “He might have hurt me… but he has been hurt worse…he needs someone…”
    Gross. Codependency at its worst.
    FMC is pathetic.
    MMC is pathetic.
Writing is fine. Narration is fine.
Story is a lesson in how the world glorifies abuse. It’s not romantic. It’s horrifying.

I mostly enjoyed this story and I always love Meghan’s books however this was a bit different…Loved the narration… So when I finished this audio, I came to review section just to see if others felt the same about the FMC… and yup, I was not the only one being annoyed with her character.

The personalities of the main characters are unique. Together with the crazy combo of the trade. Great read! Had a lot of fun! Looking forward to Lincoln’s story or is there 1 already??

No one writes a heart-wrenching, sexy romantic comedy like Meghan Quinn. Hands down my favorite romance novelist. This book was everything I wanted it to be and more. It is laugh-out-loud hilarious and tear-jerkingly emotional. Not to mention the heat. Don’t be overwhelmed by the length of this book. It was necessary. I still wanted more in the end.

If you like this, read Bossman Bridegroom next. My absolute favorite book by her. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Kinsley really ruined the book for me she was way to annoying. The male lead was cool and I enjoyed his parts of the book but once it would switch to the female I was not interested. Overall decent book.

Kinsley is the absolute worst. She has no respect for boundaries and tries to be quirky and cute. I love Meghan Quinn FMC normally but this is the worst one I’ve ever read
