    When the new tenants came to rent the house, I had not thought to ask them if they were afraid of ghosts. Thinking that the spirits rested now, I thought it imprudent to ask. After all I did want to rent the place and it seemed to need it. The expenses of its upkeep fell hard on my husband and I. Plus the house wanted someone living there.

    Let's go back a few months before this and tell you what happened and how it all came about. My Aunt Celia died of the rheumatism. A crotchety old bugger, Aunt Celia never liked anyone. She lived in her old home on her own without any help. When she got sick, we offered her assistance by hiring Clara from the neighboring farm. Clara was there but a few hours before the old bat sent her screaming from the house in terror.
