Meditation The Hectic Life
()
About this ebook
This is my fourth book in a series of meditation books. Being hectic is part of our lives now and this book gives natural ways to help you relax and balance your lives. Each book is about different aspects of meditation and how it relates to the individual person. It is simple to read and is a guide on how to approach the process of meditation while dealing with different topics. Each book builds on the previous book. Each book contains a series of meditations for sitting, laying, standing and walking. It contains suggestions on how to incorporate different aspects like journaling and thought processes. Each meditation guides the person in a point by point process incorporating the physical body as a guide. Meditation is a journey and I have written these books as a simple guide to learn and enjoy the process.

Introduction
Time has become a commodity that we seem to keep running out of. We are constantly calling or texting our spouses and children to ensure our schedules are kept up. Everyone has to fall in line. Even our children have cell phones so we can check up and see if they are keeping up.
We drive faster, use our horns more often to speed everyone up in front of us to either keep up or get out of the way. We don’t have time to sit and eat together so it is fast foods on the go and usually in the car on the way to where we’re going.
We wake up already planning and then miss breakfast because we run out of time so we pick up a coffee on the way. We give our children pre-packaged lunches because we didn’t have time to prepare anything and then pick up fast foods for supper. At the end of the day we fall into bed exhausted and feeling like we are running out of time to do what we should. Then our sleeps are restless because it is all about what we still have to do tomorrow and all the days afterwards. We are grabbing at moments, food, clothes, time and still it isn’t enough. Everything becomes a commodity even our relationships. Either play along or get out of the way.
The way we handle our work or sports becomes more competitive. Expectations become more intense. We have to be winners on our terms or we become complete failures or extremely frustrated. We push our children harder, teaching them lessons about getting them before they get you. There is no excuse for failure.
We frantically run and run-out, deprive and feel deprived, expect and feel disappointed, strive and feel frustrated because it is never enough. We compete when we know we can win rather than challenge ourselves to grow. Failure is not an option. We play computer games or surf the net and constantly up the ante on everything till it is never enough and then wonder why.
Our immune systems are on high alert all the time and eventually we pay the price in ourselves, our children and our relationships. It is all about keeping up. Our judgment becomes clouded because we rely more on filling our lives rather than living the moments.
We have become a disposal society and our landfills are evidence of this. We need the newest most up-to-date and most expensive. We easily discard what doesn’t live up to expectations. We need to have the biggest, newest and best around. We need a bigger house decorated to perfection which we don’t live in and an SUV in the driveway.
Our health starts to deteriorate and still we don’t stop to listen, feeling frustrated because we have to slow down. We pop another pill; inject ourselves with all the newest vaccines all in the guise to keep us healthy and constantly be able to push forward.
Where are we going? What are we striving so hard to attain? What are we not getting that we have to keep reaching out for? Who are we trying to please by needing to win all the time? Do we have the answers for any of these questions and is it ever enough? We are looking beyond us for the answers and they aren’t there. They are within us
