A Mother’s Plea
When you have a child, you love them so much that you sacrifice everything... Providing every necessity and showing them the softer side of life. You cling to them dearly and protect them from the hurt, pain and mistakes of their future failures. Preparing them for the inevitable but attempting to prolong it for one more day. They resent you for that and rebel against the so-called dictatorship.
They feel that you don’t love them, care for them, understand them or know them. You know that they are finding their ways in this cruel and dark world. You hold on to them because you know what they do not know about the world.
If only they could see the harsh realities of this imperfect world. If only they could taste the pain of true disappointment and defeat. If they could watch dreams, desires and hopes blow away in the wind of responsibility. If only you could show them without the agony of experience. He or she cannot see or understand the truth. You have grown in wisdom and knowledge. You are constantly poised and patience, but pushy at times. Children do not know that their parents’ have grown because of the pain-staking mistakes, trails and obstacles that their parents’ have been able to overcome throughout the years.
How can you allow them to see the daily challenges of living, without letting them go out on their own? Do you get fed up of being manipulated, unappreciated and disrespected? Do you lovingly say enough and let them learn on their own? Do you reduce your level and tackle the issues head on? You desire more than anything to shelter your children from harm and to love them with all of your might. You continually demand the best from them and hope the best for them. You love them with all of your being and your heart aches for them. You look at your children with tear-filled eyes because you
