About this ebook

Noel travels the world for work, only coming home for the holiday season. With so little time spent in one place, relationships are a no-go.

Dean, a firefighter with a serious disdain for the holiday season, is sent to Mistletoe, a small town that lives and breathes Christmas. To keep his holiday exposure to a minimum, Dean avoids relationships from November through January.

Will two people who are so adamant about being single be able to ignore the feelings that are heating up their Christmas season?

Adrianne James

Growing up, Adrianne couldn't get her hands on enough books to satisfy her need for the make believe. If she finished a novel and didn't have a new one ready and waiting for her, she began to create her own tales of magic and wonder. Now, as an adult, books still make up majority of her free time, and now her tales get written down to be shared with the world.During the day, Adrianne uses her camera to capture life's stories for clients of all ages and at night, after her two children are tucked in bed; she devotes herself to her written work. Adrianne is living the life she always wanted, surrounded by art and beauty, the written word and a loving family. As a young adult and new adult author, Adrianne James has plans to bring stories of growing characters, a little romance, and perhaps a little magic and mythology down the line for her readers to enjoy.

    Chapter 1

It was a strange feeling, freezing feet but blistering heat on your face. But that is exactly what it was like standing out in the snow on Thanksgiving watching what was supposed to be a succulent fried turkey dinner burn down the garage.

Noel Jamison stood in the snow across the street from her parent’s house and watched the flames climb the sides of the garage, that was supposed to be her art studio for the next two months, and lick at the sky. Even the falling snow did nothing to extinguish the flames. Neighbors from all around them came out to watch.

She told her Uncle that a frozen turkey could not go into a fryer. Her mother told him to just raise the temperature to make up the time difference. Noel told them both that raising the heat wouldn’t work. That she had read a million news stories over the years of those exact things causing explosions. They told her she was over reacting.

An exploded turkey wouldn’t have been so bad if her Uncle hadn’t decided to keep warm by cooking it in the garage. Her garage. Well, it was her garage. By the time the fire department got there, she wasn’t sure there would be anything left.

She was just thankful she hadn’t started working yet. Noel traveled around the world to paint landscapes. She was inspired by actual places and the companies who bought her work were more than happy to buy her plane tickets. But every year at Thanksgiving, she came home. There was no better place for Christmas landscape inspiration than her hometown of Mistletoe.

A siren wailed from somewhere down the road. The fire department was close. It would be nice to have the damn fire out so they can all go back inside. Maybe she could order a pizza. Who was she kidding? Every business in Mistletoe was closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Not one was open. Most other places at least a gas station was open. Not Mistletoe.

The bright red truck raced up the street. As it approached, Noel plugged her ears. The siren was so loud it felt like her ear drums were being pierced.
