Your children can develop both writing skills and a love of writing. Even if they're too young to write, they can tell you what to write, and as they grow, they'll benefit from journal writing in both tangible and intangible ways.
Mary Versteeg
Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Mary Versteeg loved growing up on a pecan farm. She began writing before the first grade, making up songs and poems which she wrote down in her diary. She has received numerous awards for her poetry and is working on a book of poetry for publication. After earning her degree in teaching English, she began her career as a teacher. Teaching reading, creative writing, speech, and English, she inspired her students to write and to love writing. She now enjoys working at home in Tarpley, Texas, and spending time with her children.
