About this ebook

He's a killer, the Blue Fairy - a hitman, some say. But Dave doesn't know that for sure. All he knows is that what he did to Billy Mason amounts to torture - even if he only did it to protect himself.

And then he sees it: the Fairy's calling card, and above his daughter's bed, no less. But...where is Amy?

What follows is a graphic tale of vigilante justice, where victims will turn killers, killers will turn saints, and one man will learn the awful price of hate...

The Blue Fairy is approximately 7,600 words.

The bed shook, and sudden panic lit Dave’s mind. He gave a start, sat up, and stared in shock at Steve Collins—whose sweaty, drunken gaze bored into him, while his friend began to rattle at his bed with fever. "Dave! The Fairy—the Fairy got him, Steve cried out, his blue eyes carved in fear. Then his lip began to quiver. H-he got Harold when we left the bar, and now he’s comin’ after us. He knows all what we done!"

Tossing back his clammy sheets, Dave grabbed at Collins with both hands and forced the other man to sit, spinning him around to see him better. Steve reeked of booze and smoke, his brown hair clinging to his head, and he was still wearing all his work clothes from the mill. His face half-mad, he clutched at Dave’s bare arms, but Dave ignored his further cries.

Steve! he whispered, his jaw tight. Be quiet. You might wake Amy.

The other quickly buttoned up his lips and nodded, pushing down his utter fear into a state of worried calm. Some chill November air seeped in through the open window near the bed, while the ancient pines beyond whispered at their secrets, up and down the quiet, country lane. Dave’s bare feet were cold atop the wooden floor, but his face felt flushed and warm.

I’m sorry, Steve muttered, shaking his head. I’m sorry, Dave. I’m sorr—

Stop it, Dave declared. Now what’s all this about?

Steve worked up the will to speak, but then he struggled for the words. His eyes began to shift about the room. "W-well, Harold and I was at the bar—and after call we walked on
