    Anonymous Sex

"So there’s the lack of negative consequences, sure; and that’s a huge part of the attraction of anonymity. But out of that absence, comes another plusa curious feeling of freedom."

    ∼Unknown

Anonymous Sex is a form of one-night stand or casual sex between people who have very little or no history with each other, often engaging in sexual activities on the same day of their meeting, and usually never seeing each other again afterwards.

These are sexual encounters between two or more people who do not know each other, who have not been introduced, and often never learn each other’s real names. It is like in the movie Last Tango in Paris, where Marlon Brando makes the rule No names. Anonymous Sex happens between all ages and genders, but is mostly practiced among gay men. It is practiced at sex clubs, parties, and bars, or arranged by placing or responding to online casual encounter ads or online chat rooms.

The term "cruising for sex" is used to refer to those looking for anonymous sex, usually in specific places where such activity is commonplace. The Internet is also a primary vehicle for people setting up Anonymous Sex. Anonymous Sex is sometimes considered to be a form of prostitution when it involves an exchange of money or drugs for sex.

Some people engage in Anonymous Sex because of the thrill of the act.

Anonymous Sex is one of the highest-risk sexual activities, as the sexual history of both partners is unknown to the other, and also because those engaging in Anonymous Sex are more likely to have a large number of partners. One study done by Sigma Research of homosexually active men in the UK found that those practicing Anonymous Sex are more likely to have unprotected anal intercourse.

Anonymous Sex usually takes place in public or semi-public spaces, and appears to be an almost exclusively male phenomenon. Many men who engage in Anonymous Sex with other men don’t even consider themselves to be gay or bisexual. Their sexual orientation is beside the point. It’s about sex. It happens in rest areas, state parks, truck stops, gyms, parking lots, adult bookstores, bathhouses and the back rooms of gay bars. There’s even an Internet website (www.cruisingforsex.com) that will tell you where to find Anonymous Sex in various areas of the country.

Foot tapping, like a Morse code, is used as a signal for anonymous bathroom sex. If you are in the stall, you tap your foot, and if the person next to you taps his feet, that would be a sign of interest. Then one person makes a move by changing info, passing a note, or if it is safe, sharing the stall for immediate sex. Another way of communicating the desire for Anonymous Sex is at the urinal. It is called the three-second rule. After gazing into each other’s eyes, they wait for three seconds and look back; if interested, they would exchange information. This will work even if someone makes eye contact with you in a mall or street, and then apply the three-second rule.

There is a difference between Anonymous Sex and public sex. Not all Anonymous Sex happens in public. There are people who go to someone’s home, blindfolded, and have sex without knowing with whom. And there are people who meet online, without showing their looks and pictures, and meet in a very dark hotel room and have sex, then leave, no questions asked.

And there was the case of Senator Larry Craig (R-Idaho) who allegedly did it in a bathroom at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in June, a few years ago. The undercover cop that arrested him reported that there were numerous arrests regarding sexual activities in the public restrooms.

People engage in Anonymous Sex for the unusualness of fucking someone they do not know, for the kink of it, for the promise of a novel experience, pleasure of excess, or for gratification of doing something forbidden.

"It is the rawness, purity, animalist of it. I don’t care about your mind, your history, or anything else. I’m not contemplating a future with you, and I’m uninfluenced by a past. I just want your body right here, right now. I’m completely thinking with my genitals."

    ∼Ken, age 25

"Time-space bubble. The feeling of stepping outside the worldfor just a moment. Suspended animation. With an accompanying feeling of intimacyyou’re alone with this other person. For an hour or two, you leave the world behindall of society, with its rules and institutions, but also a lot of yourselfyour identity, your commitments and attachments, your relationships, your beliefs, your positions in various orderings, your knowledge and skills and achievements and history, your worries and regrets and hopes and grief."

    Awkward Sex

Everybody has had some kind of Awkward Sex in his or her sexual life. This usually happens in the early sexual life, or at a very old age. For men it is during the sexual act and performance, and for women it is their positioning, like when the man crosses the imaginary line, without first getting her permission to have anal sex, or his penis gets bloody by her sharp teeth. For her, it could be that her legs get locked or the muscles get so tired that she cannot move. Or one tries to use dirty talk, and it goes too far and kills the romance. The worst embracing and awkward moment during sex is when one calls the other by a different name. And everybody can recall when someone else walked in on them while they were having sex, or had an involuntarily gas release, or when one urinated on the other.

Sometimes, not only can it be awkward, it can also be uncomfortable, like when Willie does not want to get up and play, or she is as dry as a sand desert. That is when the ability of lovers to deal with these embarrassing situations reflects the strength of their relationship. Understanding and love will overcome imperfect moments in sexual acts and relationships.

One night after a party I was taking my new girlfriend home; we both were a little tipsy and very horny. My car was too small for having sex in it. When we got to her house, at first she wanted us to go to her room, but we thought it would be too risky. Then we decided on her SUV that was parked outside of the garage. As we were in the heat of having hard sex, the porch light went on; we panicked and started putting our clothes on. One of us accidentally hit the alarm button and now the horn is blasting and car lights are flashing. In no time everybody in the house was looking at us trying to get dressed.

    Bambi Sex

Also: Bambi Sexuality, Non-kinky Sex, Straight Sex

In gay terminology, playful, non-penetrative, non-genital amorous activity such as petting, kissing, and caressing is called Bambi Sex. In the other words, Bambi Sex is straightforward sex excluding all forms of diversity such as sadomasochism, or bondage-and-discipline. For example, oral and anal sex without any embellishments would be termed Bambi Sex.
