      Driving down the isolated two-lane road, Jackie’s hands shook in a nervous rage. She could feel the fire in her cheeks as her head pounded.

      Jackie tried to calm herself down by taking a couple of deep breaths. However, it was to no avail. Jackie was so angry she had a hard time seeing straight.

      Somewhere inside of her, Jackie had to face the fact that she was deeply hurt. More hurt than she had initially realized when she made her unsavory exit, leaving Michael in a cloud of dust and gravel.

      Jackie wanted to cry. She wanted to start sobbing with every part of her being. However, Jackie refused the urge to.

      Remembering the radio was still on in the background, she turned the tuner dial to the off position. Jackie had all she could take of talk radio.

      Stopping at the four way stop sign she had just passed a short time ago, Jackie snatched her purse from underneath the floorboard, tossing it next to her on the passenger side seat.
