I almost think that the previous five books written in this series were just an excuse to write this book. I do think that this book was written, or at least begun, before a couple of the others were completed because of some continuity errors. However, this is a fitting culmination to the series with all loose threads tied up and everyone living happily ever after, secondary characters included. Adam Chillworth is a painter, estranged from his family, living in the attic of 7 Mayfair Square. Princess Desiree' of Mont Nuages has been in love with Adam since they met when her brother, Jean-Marc, met and married Number 7 resident Meg Smiles in the second book of this series. Adam has tried to keep himself away from her, believing he was not worthy of a Princess. However, in this book, the truth of Adam's parentage comes out and he is able to find happiness with the Princess. Unfortunately, there is also someone else who wants Desiree' for himself and will stop at nothing to get her.
