Author and illustrator Ashley Spires is the creator of the Binky The Space Cat series of junior graphic novels, which have earned her numerous awards, including the Silver Birch Express and the Hackmatack. Her picture books, including Larf, Small Saul, and The Most Magnificent Thing, are known for providing readers, young and old, with a good laugh. When not drawing, she is often jogging with her dog Gordon or wrangling her three cats, Penny, Fran and Gracie. She lives in British Columbia.

- (3/5)Poor Larf seems to be the only Bigfoot of his kind. And he's a little set in his ways. But when he hears of the opportunity to meet another real-life, genuine Bigfoot, he's intrigued enough to make the journey into the city. He's disappointed to find that he has been fooled again...or has he?
Cute, funny, and with a final scene that reminds me a little of Forrest Gump. - (3/5)Larf is a wonderful creature who believes he is one of a kind. Learning that there is another Sasquatch in town, he goes to visit. Recommended for late primary grades-not the younger Blue Spruce audience
