- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Reviewed by Lynn F. for Readers FavoriteYou Can Understand The Book Of Revelation by Skip Heitzig is a book that takes the reader on an exploration of the book of Revelation. Revelation is one of the books most people shy away from reading in the Bible.Whether it’s due to the prophetic message, the symbols that are throughout, people are afraid of the end times and what is coming. It seems people and churches both do not like to dwell into the deepness of this one book that is so mysterious, controversial and neglected. As the author helps oneto explore the many different facets of this book he gives the reader a summery at the beginning of each chapter along with several bible verses to study dealing with that chapter. He also has many scriptures throughout each chapter to help the reader learn more. From how to get a deeper appreciation of the power and majesty of Christ,to what Gods plans are for the last days here on earth, and how to be ready for Christ’s return to once again plant his feet on the world that He created.I have read several book dealing with the book of Revelation and also Daniel as the two seem to go together so when I get a chance to read another book dealing with this prophetic book I always grab it. I have read great books, mediocre and others I would not give the time of day to. As I read through this book I realized it is a study book but not a study book. It’s not one that is going to take you through verses as some do,but is going to take you through the chapters and give you an overview of each chapter. Though there are 22 chapters they are not long to bore the reader. When starting to read I also looked up and read some of the scriptures,so this then is a book that I will come back to and sit and study it more thoroughly with the scriptures that are given. As with all books dealing with the study of the bible, one should read their bible along with it,as there are many false teachers out there who will turn the reader away from the truth. If you are looking for a better understanding of Revelation then I would recommend picking up a copy of this book, your bible,a pen and marker and have an enjoyable study
