      The maps were the most useful part of this book for me. His taste in restaurants was different from ours and we got tired of his bossy attitude about things one MUST see in Hawaii. Not everybody wants to see the same stuff. His mile by mile descriptions of the road to Hana are probably of interest to some people, but not us. Thank god I've done that and I never have to do it again. Also, he was just wrong about the water quality around Kihei. It's great.

      We're off to Maui in a couple of months, so I bought this travel guide to do some research. This was the highest rated and most popular travel book on Maui, and for good reason. It is a full color guide (beautiful pictures!), and it includes information on must-see attractions, activities, restaurants, hotels, beaches, waterfalls, maps... pretty much everything. I especially like the extensive section detailing the Road to Hana, mile by mile. As for the accuracy of the book, I don't know yet, as we haven't gone on our trip yet, but for planning, it has been great.
