      Being here presents me

      with a weird

      contradictory

      This feeling that I can relax

      and not have to achieve

      but I’m nervous

      that its not a positive thing

      Maybe I need some time

      off from my professional role

      but I want to work hard

      and challenge myself to grow

      It could be

      lack of clarity

      that I’ve been given

      The constraints of the not-for-profits

      and the absurdity of the system

      What I now know

      is that I need something different

      As the sun shines down

      upon my page

      I reflect upon my age

      and my current growth stage

      thinking that I’m in transition and need to stay engaged

      Even though I’m pretty unclear

      I’m very certain that I can’t stay here

      I need a change in the variables of my equation

      looking at

      my situation

      I’m trying not to ruminate

      but I have this feeling that I could be great

      where I used to hesitate

      now I contemplate

      I’ve got education and I’ve got work ethic

      my friends have education

      and they’re genius no less

      But have we been able to find

      happiness?
