INTRODUCTION
We have a gun problem in this country and we need to do something about it as soon as possible. There is getting to be more and more gun fanatics every day.
Guns can be a good sport and hobby for responsible people. We are not trying to get firearms totally banned, (Maybe Assault Weapons and High Capacity Magazines though). We are trying to get stricter common sense gun laws and regulations, and we would like to see uniform gun laws in every state throughout the country. We would also like to see all Firearm owners required to carry Liability Insurance. Although, I do support the right of Americans to own firearms, like all rights, the right to own guns must be balanced against others. The NRA was once a good organization dedicated to Gun Sport Safety, but the
New NRA is too extreme and fanatical and does not wish to compromise. The Concealed Carry movement is starting to go a little too far. The gun Companies and NRA are trying to scare people into purchasing more firearms, and they believe that
more guns equal less crime but we believe that
less guns equal less crime, I feel that they are a threat to Society.
We would like better Gun Control Laws and stricter Regulations in the Gun Industry to help keep Firearms out of the hands of incompetent people. These are some common sense reasonable measures we would like to see:
1. Those who would like to purchase a firearm must meet certain age requirements.
2. National gun registration database.
3. Close gun show, internet and private sale loopholes by requiring background checks and proper record keeping.
4. Five day waiting period requirement before a purchase of a firearm can be completed.
5. Those who were admitted to mental hospitals and drug rehabs be included in a universal background check system.
6. Ban of automatic and assault weapons.
7. Ban high capacity ammunition magazines over 20 rounds and hollow point bullets.
8. Safe storage requirements for firearms and require Consumer Safety standards.
9. Require licenses for every firearm.10. Making Firearm trafficking a Federal crime.
11. Uniform gun
