About this ebook

This is part of a series of books in which particular verses are picked from books of the bible, and the issues of Holiness are explored, in the light of the mind of God for us.
In this book, we explore four topics, from different verses in the books of Amos, Micah, Zephaniah, Zechariah. They are: The arrogance of man; Living a distinct life; Tell no lies; The city of truth and holiness.
Excerpts:
The arrogance of man
“We don’t compare ourselves with others, leading to more arrogance because we realise that there is nothing we have that is not as a result of the generousity of God to us. It is the grace of God.  Paul said that by grace we are saved and not of ourselves, it is the gift of God. Everything we have or we are is the gift of God, and whatever we will have and become will also be because of God.”
Living a distinct life
“Though we are in the earth we are not of the earth (John 17:15-16), it can’t get more distinct than that; we are children of God, we represent another order of beings, we are new creatures (2Corinthians 5:17).”
Tell no lies
“When truth is entrenched in your mind, the knowledge of God can find root in it. The lies in our minds are like stones that will not allow the word to take root in our heart and bear fruits in our lives (Mark 4:1-23). The more we allow lying to dwell in our hearts, the less capacity for the truth of God we have. It doesn’t matter what you think is your level of expression of God, you are missing out on some things if you still permit lies to dwell in your heart, and come from your mouth.”
The city of truth and holiness
“In Ephesus, Paul has a concentration of the presence of God so much so that when part of his cloth was cut and put on the possessed, devils are cast out (Acts 19:10-12). There are no limits for the presence of God.”
